Hello, this is the Graduate Innovation Office at Chonnam National University.

After entering graduate school—regardless of whether we are in the humanities, social sciences, or STEM fields—we all encounter various challenges such as experimental errors, difficulties in data collection, and paper rejections.
Failure may be uncomfortable, but it is one of the most honest ways to refine hypotheses and improve research design.

The "Failure Expo" is a space where graduate students openly share the context of their failures, how they tried again, and the insights they gained.

In support of all the struggles and growth that come with graduate life, we are holding the “Failure Expo” as part of the Yongbong Academic Festival G-Fair.
We invite graduate students to actively participate and share their stories of research challenges and resilience.

1. Theme: Experiences of failure and overcoming them during research or thesis writing after entering graduate school.

2. Submission Format: Poster: Freely designed, max size A1 (59cm × 84cm), portrait or landscape, JPG format, 2–3MB

• You may include original images such as research data tables, figures, or photos taken during your research.

3. Submission Materials:

• - One poster describing your failure experience
• - One signed copyright agreement (attached in the official notice)

4. Awards:

• All participants: Gift certificate worth KRW 30,000

• Selected top entries: Additional prize of KRW 200,000
  ※ Insincere or low-effort submissions may not receive the participation prize.

5. Eligibility:

• Graduate students currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program at the General Graduate School (including those registered post-completion)

6. How to Apply:

• Log in to the Chonnam National University portal and click the link at the bottom to apply.

7. Exhibition:

All submitted posters will be printed by the Graduate School and exhibited at the 2025 Yongbong Academic Festival G-Fair: Graduate Student Coffee Social Special Session

What is Coffee Social?
A casual networking event where graduate students share ideas and connect across disciplines over coffee. Held as a special session during the Yongbong Academic Festival.

8. Notes:

• You may submit multiple entries, but the participation prize will only be awarded once per person.

• Any other issues will be handled according to university regulations.
