(Korea Foundation) Recruitment for Graduate Participants in the 1st Korea-Australia Youth Forum
The Korea Foundation (KF) organizes bilateral and multilateral forums with various countries, providing a platform for opinion leaders from politics, business, media, academia, culture, and other fields to exchange ideas on practical cooperation measures. These forums also contribute to forward-looking policy development by delivering agreed-upon proposals to relevant institutions.
As part of these efforts, KF will host the 3rd Korea-Australia Future Forum (November 1, 2024) and its affiliated program, the 1st Korea-Australia Youth Forum. We invite interested participants to apply for this event.
1. Program Overview
a. Program Title: 1st Korea-Australia Youth Forum
b. Date/Location: October 31, 2024 (Thursday) – November 1, 2024 (Friday) / Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun
- Orientation: Scheduled for October 12, 2024 (Saturday)

- 10 next-generation experts (under 35) each from Korea and Australia involved in Korea-Australia relations

2. Recruitment Details
a. Eligibility and Participants:
- 10 next-generation experts (under 35) residing in Korea with expertise in Korea-Australia relations
b. Application Process:
- Application Deadline: By September 22, 2024 (Sunday), 11:59 PM
- Required Documents:
- Application form
- Certificate of enrollment or graduation
- Official English language proficiency certificate
- Submission Method:
- Submit the above documents via email to asiaprograms@kf.or.kr
- Note: In-person or postal submissions will not be accepted.
- Announcement of Results:
- Successful applicants will be individually contacted after document review on October 2, 2024 (Wednesday), 6:00 PM
c. Participant Responsibilities:
- Draft policy proposals through session discussions
- Present the Youth Forum’s policy proposals at the 3rd Korea-Australia Future Forum
- Submit a participation report (1–2 pages)
d. Participant Benefits:
- Participation stipend and certificate of participation
- Accommodation at Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun for October 31, 2024 (Thursday) – November 1, 2024 (Friday)
- Additional accommodation provided on October 30, 2024 (Wednesday) for participants from outside the Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi areas.
- Priority selection for the 2nd Korea-Australia Youth Forum (to be held in Australia in 2025)

- Background:
- Launched as a follow-up measure to the 2021 Korea-Australia Summit, this forum promotes wide-ranging and sustained dialogue between the two countries through private-sector initiatives. It began with its first meeting in Seoul in May 2022 and is held annually in Korea and Australia alternately.
