CNU Graduate School Online 1:1 Video English Program (Selection Announcement: May 21 at 5 PM)

The Graduate School at Chonnam National University is offering an online 1:1 video English program for graduate students and early-career researchers to enhance their international communication skills.

Program Overview

1. 1. Objective: To help graduate students build proficiency in English speaking skills required for academic presentations,
                          international conferences, and effective communication. The program focuses on appropriate vocabulary, cultural 
                          knowledge, and intonation through online speaking sessions.

3. 2. Eligibility: 40 graduate students and new researchers (including registerd students after completion) 

1. 3. Program period: May 29, 2025 (Monday) – July 31, 2025(Thursday)
   •     If fewer than 9 sessions are completed by June 22, 2025(Sunday), the spot will be reassigned to a waiting applicant.

2.     Log in to the CNU Graduate School website → Student Growth Support → GradGrow (Extracurricular Programs)
3. ※ Motivation is required (Please describe a detailed motiviation with clear outlining your learning goal)
        e.g.) Participation in the International OOOOOO Conference to be held in August in [Country name],
4.              English presentation of academic papaer in the 2nd semester in [Program or course name] and etc.

6. 6. Support Provided: 20-minute classes: 14 sessions & 40-minute classes: 4 sessions (Total: 18 classes, 440 minutes)
   •   * Reward for 100% Attendance: Additional 2 classes(2*20 minute) & a one(1) month AI Tutor Subx-scription will be provided
   •     on a first-come, first-served basis.

7. 7. Class Hours:

   • Flexible scheduling for 1:1 personalized classes (excluding 2:00 PM–7:00 PM).
   • Sessions can be booked in advance or attended in real-time.
     • Class must be booked at least two days in advance.
     • Cancellations or changes are allowed up to 2 hours before the class starts.

8. 8. Platform: Online live video classes using the Ringle system
   
   9. Course Types
   * Category-Based Classes:

   • Select from topics like business/economics, current affairs/politics, and English learning tips.
   • • Role-playing and hands-on exercises for business meetings, email writing, and more, with real-time corrections.
     • * Test Preparation Classes:
       • Prepare for official tests like OPIC, SPA, and IELTS with practical tips and mock questions.
       • * Custom Topic Classes:
         • Upload personal materials (emails, presentation slides, etc.) in advance for tailored corrections and guidance.

       • 10. Instructor details:  Native-speaking tutors from prestigious universities in English-speaking countries (Tutors can be selected based on specialization.)
